Visitors to the Valley of Arts festival can explore the Museum of Ethnography from July 19-28, 2024. Located on the grounds of the Cirque de Tókert, the museum island will offer a diverse and exciting program of events. Exclusive museum souvenirs will be available too in a tent on Petőfi Street in Kapolcs, which will also serve as the starting point for a fun game.
From 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the interactive community games pavilion will transport festival-goers to another dimension. Participants can engage in activities designed to encourage slowing down and cultivating patience. In the pavilion, visitors can become part of a "glass of patience," a figure in an ever-changing scene, and learn about the art of making a "glass of patience" through interactive games. The daytime interactive exhibition will be accompanied by family and children's activities and lectures.
In addition to all-day skill games, museum educators will offer a daily MÉTA BABY session for families with small children, featuring relaxation, storytelling, and singing. In the afternoons, a highlight of the museum's Night in the Museum program will be a daily demonstration at the Valley of Arts Festival, where families can explore the theme of sleep with guidance from museum educators.
There will also be an opportunity to make bags and accessories from scrapped molinos in a creative upcycling workshop with the Popartbox team, view creative student projects produced in collaboration between the Museum of Ethnography and Metropolitan University, and enjoy a family concert by the HolddalaNap band in the museum courtyard.
What's more, visitors can get a glimpse of the museum's permanent exhibition of collections, opening in the autumn, by participating in the museum's points-gathering game and joining curatorial discussions.
