Several staff members of the Museum of Ethnography will actively participate in the fifth Independent Educational Forum of the Transylvanian Heritage House, taking place on 20–21 June 2025 in Nyárádszentlászló, Mureș County, Romania. This year, the professional forum’s central theme is the relationship between heritage and digitalisation, with particular focus on museum and public collection practices.
The Museum of Ethnography will contribute to discussions on several key topics. These include the heritage concepts and community perspectives behind the Székelys – Patterns of Heritage exhibition, the museum’s approach to digitally archiving exhibitions, and the MaDok project, which explores how contemporary phenomena can be represented in museum contexts. Additional presentations will focus on the creative reuse of collection objects through digital and educational applications, as well as an innovative heritage protection pilot project aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among museums in the Székely region.
The Museum of Ethnography’s presence at the Independent Educational Forum not only enriches professional dialogue but also serves as an example of how heritage conservation, contemporary museology, and digital innovation can be interconnected within a dynamically evolving cultural space that transcends national borders.
