The exhibition Blueprint Patchwork presents the richness of quilting as a technique, a community, and a way of life. Alongside the award-winning works of the Inherited from Our Masters – Blueprint Competition, the exhibition also recalls more than thirty years of the Hungarian Quilters’ Guild’s history. Quilting – or patchwork – is one of the most intricate forms of handcraft: from fragments of fabric, a new textile is born, where each stitch carries rhythm, story, and a personal message. The works that incorporate the traditional art of blue-dyeing move between heritage and contemporary experimentation, created through hand and machine stitching, appliqué, quilting, and embroidery. The exhibition is both a competition and a celebration – the quiet time of handwork, the joy of creation, and the sustaining power of community woven into one single fabric.
