WAMP IN Museum of Ethnography on the 12 of NOVEMBER, 10:00-18:00h, Free entry!
At WAMP Design fair, Hungarian designers present their own small series products, be it clothing, jewellery, accessories, home furnishings, photography or even gastronomic delicacies. WAMP is a community space where creators, buyers, young people, families, creative professionals and interested lay people can meet, making design not an abstract concept of art, but an exciting possibility to be introduced into people's everyday lives. As one of the largest and longest-standing private design initiatives in Hungary, WAMP also places a strong emphasis on the social responsibility and values it promotes. As a counterbalance to fast fashion and malls, WAMP creates a sustainable, people-centred alternative through its monthly fairs. The WAMP movement was the first in this country to start 17 years ago with these ideas as its flagship: WAMP QUALITY, SUSTAINABLE FASHION, HUNGARIAN ART, COMMUNITY BUILDING, EDUCATION, VALUE CREATION. Its main goals are: community building, supporting Hungarian families and small businesses through the promotion of Hungarian design, promoting small series products along the lines of sustainability, and reducing logistics costs and ecological footprint. The importance of sustainability is a fundamental aspect for all our exhibitors, and recycled products (e.g. eco-textile use contributes greatly to our core values).
During workshops, we involve people in the process of making products, and you can experience the joy of creation. WAMP exhibitors present their products to the public in a high quality, juried setting, and the fairs are held in exclusive venues. At the fairs, visitors have the opportunity to meet designers and designers, learn about human stories and business stories. WAMP is a truly trendy, sustainable, conscious shopping experience that will captivate everyone with its refreshing, colourful takeaway.
