Ordinary objects and one-of-a-kind artefacts from our past come to life in the curatorial guided tour of the Collection Exhibition with the Focus on the Life of Objects section.
Explore the new, just recently opened permanent exhibition of the Museum of Ethnography, one of the most modern such institutions in the world. The pieces of this new permanent exhibition have been collected for centuries now and are on display organized around eight Hungarian and international themes. The priceless artefacts represent the Hungarian folk culture, and the cultures of peoples of distant continents from the 17th century to the present day, including the various manifestations of everyday life, human existence and community relationships.
This guided tour will give you a new, deeper perspective on the objects in the collection: How does an ordinary object become a museum artefact? What does the object tell us and how can we relate to it? What questions do we have about them and what do they tell us?
The fresh concept of this creative and spectacular exhibition is going to turn you from a simple observer into an engaged explorer. The guided tour will help you make the most of this experience.
